Tournament Update—NEW EVENT: Senior Black Belt Kumite

A new event has just been added for the very first time to the ISKF 2008 National Tournament: Senior Black Belt Kumite for men and women, ages 45 to 55. Rules will be the same as other adult kumite events.

The ISKF Technical Committee has fought hard for the inclusion of this event into the national tournament. A precedent was set by its inclusion in the upcoming 2008 ISKF Shoto Cup in Canada. This will be a trial for this event, so as many contestants as possible are encouraged to participate in order to guarantee the event’s continuance. There is no limit to the amount of contestants you may send from your region. Black Belt Senior Individual Registration Form.

What’s Happening Regionwide

The Southwest Region will be hosting the ISKF US National Championships and National Collegiate Tournament at the Westin Los Angeles Airport Hotel, November 14–16 of this year. This event takes a great deal of preparation, not only by the participating athletes, but by the organizational committees. Many volunteers are needed and a great deal of money must be raised to properly host such a tournament.

Here are some the fundraisers and other related events happening throughout the region. Join in where you can. Proceeds from all events go to the National Tournament. All checks should be payable to ISKF 2008 Nationals.
